Carl Gustav Carus

This last summer I went on a painting expedition through Western Europe. Throughout my adventure I kept a sketchbook, and would write down names of artists who I never saw before (or, simply HAD to remember for later).  I’m very lazy, and still haven’t scanned any of the sketches or paintings I made from that trip, but recently needed some blank pages for some new sketches of mine over the winter holidays and so I pulled out the semi-full pad.

BOY, did I find some pretty amazing artists!

So, I started a new journal (we will see how long this ones lasts before it is plunged into the eternal darkness of a cabinet drawer somewhere) that I will keep solely for the new discovery of these artists I find in museums and galleries whenever I go anywhere. In the meantime, enjoy this artist who was pulled from the ages of obscurity.
