Ian Cumberland

Went to London this summer and visited the National Portrait Gallery. This artist was featured in their annual BP awards and won 3rd place for this first piece. I’d meant to feature him sooner, but have a larger list of artists to talk about than I thought I would! But, I recently saw more of his work and figured it was destiny.

Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you the BEST portrait artist I’ve seen to date.

  1. Hope this reaches your blog. Ian Cumbrrland painted a portrait of my 4 year old boy and it was given to me as my 40th birthday present from my darling wife… What can I say; he’s such an amazing talent and we are privileged to have him here in Northern Ireland.i have followed his career from 2007-8 and this guy gets better and better. He’s a giant in the making!

  2. Thought I’d let you know that the portrait of Glen Hansard (with the red beard) is not actually by Ian Cumberland but is in fact by Colin Davidson.
